It is not clear when did the principles of Feng shui start. Its development has been going on for centuries and has been applied countless times in China and today, in many places in the world.

One thing is clear though, Feng shui applies principles and practices, many of which could be scientifically proven, and is continuously gaining popularity.

The shapes that go well with this spot are the pointed ones. Its opposite is materials that are representative of water. This is not a good spot for fountains and ponds.

The southwest is for love and romance, marriage and partners, motherhood and relationships.

Use earth elements in this spot. This is also a good place to dine, sit and talk with your partner, plan efforts that requires a team etc. Avoid as much as possible materials that are made of wood. The color green will help a lot.

The West
Is a place that is best for children and fun. This spot also aids creativity. Use metal elements but avoid fire and its representations. While this spot is good for entertaining, conduct your barbecue in the south. You can also decorate this corner with circular objects and arches.

The northwest is best for representations of activities that are outside of the home like trading, travel, supporters and sponsors including fatherly activities.

Some aspects of these though could be changed depending on the personality of the occupant and which side of the character needs to be augmented. The general rule though is not to make the room appear neither too yin nor too yang.

While it has often been dismissed as superstition, a bull and a crap, by those who are against it, its longevity could be traced to the benefits of all those who applied its principles. Feng shui holds so much validity for the Orientals that there were Chinese emperors who had their Feng shui experts executed for fear that the knowledge could be used against them. In the 19th century, the Chinese government has control over the distribution of charts, numerical data and diagrams that were included in the almanacs that it releases to the public.

Feng shui is an old practice that has developed through the centuries. In fact it is a part of the Chinese philosophy. The earliest formal account though is through the writings of Chu Hsi who lived during the Song Dynasty around 1126 to 1278. His writings then became the foundation of the practice of Feng shui. But as already mentioned, Feng shui foes a long way back.

This is also very true with Feng shui although it goes a step more than just what is outright tangible and explainable.

Buying a house by any language is one among the major decisions that one has to do. Not only will it influence the future of those who will reside in it, it could also well be one of the most expensive. Mistakes then have to be minimized if not eliminated. The bright hall effect means that the house has a wide and open area fronting it or a frontage where there is a space of land before the house. ? This Feng shui house is better improved when its back faces a mountain or a rising slope, or a tall building. Open spaces behind the house do not really contribute that much. What is to be avoided though is a house where its back elevation is lower than the house itself unless something is done about it to correct the downslide. This should include the flow in the drainage and the flow in the house storm drains. If this is not observed properly, the residents will find difficulties in their careers as they are against the flow.
